Privacy Policy

This site is run by M. J. Bull, author of The Scardungeon Adventures. You can reach us at hello@scardungeon.com.

Scardungeon.com is aimed at children and families. You can browse the site and use the online colouring tool without giving us any personal information at all — nothing is collected just to draw or colour a picture. We only ask for information if you choose to submit a picture to the gallery, send us your own artwork, sign up to the newsletter, or contact us. Where a form is aimed at a child, such as submitting a colouring, we ask for a parent or guardian’s email address and explicit permission before anything is shared publicly.

Newsletter sign-up: your name and email address, so we can send you updates about new books and news. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email, or by emailing hello@scardungeon.com.

Contact form: your name, email address, and message, so we can reply to you.

Colouring tool submissions: an optional display name (first name or nickname only — please don’t include a surname), a parent or guardian’s email address, and confirmation that a parent or guardian has given permission. We store the picture securely and use the guardian’s email only to contact them about the submission, for example if it’s chosen to appear in the gallery. Nothing is published until a real person at Scardungeon has reviewed it.

Your own artwork submissions: the same as above, plus the image file you send us. These are sent to us directly for review and are only ever made public if we choose to feature them in the gallery, and only with permission.

We use trusted third-party services to help run this site: Supabase for our database and file storage, Resend for sending emails, and Lovable for website hosting. These providers process data on our behalf and have their own security and privacy practices.

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don’t run analytics that track individual visitors. We use one small, secure technical cookie so the site owner can access a private admin page — it doesn’t collect or store anything about visitors to the public site.

We know this site is likely to be used by children. It’s designed so children can enjoy the colouring tool without needing to share anything about themselves. Any feature that asks for personal information — submitting a picture, signing up to the newsletter — is intended to be completed by, or with, a parent or guardian, and asks for a guardian’s email and explicit consent before we do anything with a child’s name, artwork, or picture.

Under UK data protection law, you (or your parent/guardian) have the right to ask what personal information we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent at any time. To do any of this, email hello@scardungeon.com and we’ll sort it out as quickly as we can.

We may update this policy from time to time as the site changes. This page will always show the latest version.
